Joan of Arc Book Club

Joan of Arc Book Club Feb 8, 10:00amCafé NOMABook: "Lost and Found in Paris" by Lian Dolan, a novel that features Joan of Arc and a mystery involving stolen art. The story follows Joan Blakely, an art historian who accepts a job to courier a portfolio of Joan of Arc sketches from a museum in Pasadena to a collector in Paris. The sketches are stolen, and Joan sets out to recover them. The author calls the book “an art history scavenger hunt”.

Note: those who wish to go to the art museum after the book club are welcome to do so. We will visit the gallery with the medieval/Renaissance artwork, and there will be a brief art and Joan themed scavenger hunt for those who wish to participate (as a nod to our protagonist in “Lost and Found in Paris”)

Discussion Location: CafeNOMA, City Park (New Orleans Museum of Art/no admission required to enter Cafe. Enter from exterior door across from Sculpture Garden). Email [email protected] if you plan to attend so she can reserve a table in the café.

Monthly Krewe Meetup

Monthly Krewe Meetup Feb 4, 6:00pmThe Holy Ground Irish PubSocialize with Krewe de Jeanne d’Arc at our monthly meetups! We choose a new location each year to meet on the first Tuesday of the month (except Fat Tuesday!)

Join us for a half hour or stay for two hours and eat, drink, and meet old and new members and volunteers.

All are welcome to join in this informal social gathering! If there’s big krewe news or small krewe questions, we can talk shop, but these are designed to be “non-working” times to get to know each other!

(And yet…we do sometimes end up talking about swords, horses or puppets…!!!)
