There is an excellent early music show that plays locally but you can listen everywhere online… It is on now and is a wonderful way to start your Sunday! Milton and Thais were part of the very first Salon de Jeanne d’Arc in 2010. They performed medieval music and explained the instruments that they performed on, tying it into the Life and times of Joan. They were very early fans and friends of the Joan of Arc Parade and we miss them dearly! Lucky for us their legacy lives on in this wondrous music show every Sunday morning on our local NPR station!

Although the Hundred Years' War ended in 1453, the Siege of Beauvais in 1472 was part of a separate, intense power struggle between the French Crown and the expanding Duchy of Burgundy. 🪓 Knocked a Burgundian soldier off the walls and tore down their banner with her axe.
🛡️ Her courage rallied the Beauvais town's women to fight alongside the men with boiling oil and stones.
⚔️ Forced the powerful Charles the Bold to retreat after a month of failed assaults.
👑 King Louis XI granted her the title "Hachette" and exempted her town from taxes.
🏛️ Every June, Beauvais holds a "Procession of the Assault" to honor the girl who saved their city.
